Front Porchers' Christmas Newsletter

~December, 2000~

With the blessed day just around the corner, I would like to take the opportunity to wish you and yours a very, very merry Christmas and all the best that life can offer in the year 2001. God bless you all.

This version of the December newsletter has no java scripting, no sound file and less animations, thus making it easier to load. The following written content otherwise, is identical to the other version.

As with all newsletters, I like to begin with extending our warmest welcome to all newcomers. We  are most delighted that you found our little corner of the forums. Drum bo, Toby and Dave ( "Quiet Reflections" thread), welcome to our Durham folder. We hope your visits are enjoyable and you return often. :o)

Tabbysue has found her way to The Front Porch much to our delight. Thank you for your wonderful links, they certainly brighten our day. We wish you and Dave a wonderful  vacation in Las Vegas. Happy anniversary dear friend and many, many more! (((HUGS)))

Mister Kitty has also found his way to The Front Porch. Welcome!

Cookie is away on her much needed and long overdue visit to her home town in beautiful Newfoundland. I would also like to announce at this time, that Cookie upon her return will take over the duties as community leader of the Around Town Newfoundland and Labrador forum. Cookie, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind as to how successful you will be as a leader! You go girl! :o)

Poetry this month in the "Quiet Reflections" thread has been truly outstanding. Thank you so much Bobby's Girl, Cookie, Lee and Jean for contributing to our reading pleasure. (((HUGS))) to you all.

December 14th was the day of our luncheon and in a word... memorable! Again I wish to thank everyone for their wonderful and thoughtful gifts. My little Rudolph is sitting under the tree, the snowman ornament is hanging on the tree and the lovely porcelain, rose lamp is turned on every night adding a delightful, warm glow to the room. They are all precious gifts and are very special to me. Thank you so very much!

We also got to meet Hollyhock, whom I might add is a very lovely lady... just the perfect addition to our group of friends.

Kay and Hess finally met each other too. But it was especially wonderful because we all got to see each other again. Do I hear rumblings of another get-together for January when we may have the pleasure of meeting Graham? Perhaps we'll also be able to entice Mister Kitty and Drum bo to join us. *very hopeful smile*

Sadly our Quinte friends were unable to join us. Perhaps when spring comes, we'll be able to plan another luncheon.  It is certainly something to look forward to!

Idris, what a fabulous month this has been for you! Congratulations dear friend on the e-publishing of "Lady Muriel's Wish" through Crossroads. Also, today I heard that  the artwork for the "Sock Stealers" and the Faeries letterhead has been completed. Things are really coming together for you and I know I speak for everyone in saying... we are very, very proud of you! (((HUGS)))

Muriel's annual Christmas bash was a huge success!! What a fabulous party. Her Christmas thread is still very busy and thank you so very much Muriel for all the wonderful stories, messages, graphics, fun and laughter, it's been wonderful visiting there.

Bobby's Girl, your Christmas poem gift to all of us is most beautiful, thank you so very much. :o)

Well I think that just about covers our month's activities and what a busy month it's been, both here and in "Real". I will be away  Boxing Day through to Monday, January 1st. In closing, I would like to leave these wonderful words with you, sadly the author is unknown but his/her wisdom is truly profound.

If as Herod, we fill our lives with things, and again with things; if we consider ourselves so unimportant that we must fill every moment of our lives with action, when will we have the time to make the long, slow journey across the desert as did the Magi? Or sit and watch the stars as did the shepherds? Or brood over the coming of the Child as did Mary? For each one of us, there is a desert to travel. A star to discover. And a being within ourselves to bring to life.
